Classroom Furniture Moved & New Blog Giveway

Well I am exhausted! I just returned from moving the furniture back into by classroom, dreading the fact that I will have to move and organize all my materials in the near future. I checked in on my blogger dashboard and found a new blog. This is an answer to my prayers about my lack of organization.
Clutter-Free Classroom

The Clutter-Free Classroom is having a giveaway! You need to head over and check it out. I am so looking forward to her posts.

Clutter-Free Classroom says:
" I've got blog entries set to post each morning
completely dedicated to ideas on classroom design, classroom management and classroom organization. I've created video tours and tutorials and gathered resources to share throughout the summer."

I know that many of you are still in school, however, I have been on break for all of one week. I had to take all furniture out of my room and put it in the lunchroom. I have materials stored in my old classroom, the extended day room and our computer lab. My furniture needed to be moved ASAP because my furniture was in front of the piano and summer piano lessons are starting next week. I was told that my room was ready to be moved into. My floors looked great! Nothing beats a good cleaning and a new coat of wax! I brought my husband along to help with the moving. He also started giving the cabinets a new coat of varnish.

This photo was taken from the doorway into my classroom. I have 24 student desks and chairs. On the back wall below the bulletin board is a long shelf , a huge easel and a corner cabinet.

This is a picture of my reading table. I don't know if this is the best place for it, so it may change. I placed a bookshelf behind the table to hold all my guided reading supplies.

I am hoping this area will be my meeting place. I have a large rug that will go in this space. It is out to be cleaned. The table will hold our one classroom computer. My thought would be that one chair is used for both the computer table and meeting spot. The easel takes up so much space. I needed this larger easel in kindergarten, I just don't know if I need something so large in second grade. I takes up so much space!

This is the teacher area. As with everything, it is a work in progress. Notice, there are no supplies or materials in the room, just furniture. I will probably work at least one day a week organizing and moving classrooms. This is easier for me than others because I only live 10 miles from my school.
