Day 1 of Cruise

Several members of our family have wanted to hear about our vacation we took during spring break. So, here goes our vacation saga….

We left our home on Friday around 7 am and drove to Port Canaveral. The drive was awful! It rained steady and sometimes hard for most of the trip. By the time it stopped raining it was dark. We did not reach our hotel until after 10 pm. We stayed at Raddison by the port. It was a beautifully landscaped hotel.

On Saturday, we ventured out into the city. We went and had breakfast and visited the local Walmart because I forgot to pack some items we needed. The outing was not all bad because we were able to see the ships in port.

Upon our return we explored the hotel and took some beautiful pictures.

We left our car at the hotel and took a taxi to the cruise ship terminal. There we waited in lines, filled out paperwork and prepared to board the ship. Our ship was the Carnival Dream. Once on the ship we had lunch at the buffet and then toured the ship. Later we found our room, unpacked and went to the muster drill. After the muster drill we went out on the deck and watched as we left Port Canaveral.

We had dinner in the Crimson Dining Room. This was fitting due to the fact we all work our Alabama Crimson Tide T-shirts. ROLL TIDE!!!
